Cancellation
Please provide a minimum of 24-hour notice for any rescheduling or canceling of your appointment. If you cancel in less than 24 hours, I may not be able to fill that spot; any appointment that is canceled after the 24-hour period is subject to a charge of 100% of the cost for your appointment. If you fall sick (for example, have a fever, are in the hospital, etc.), don't hesitate to get in touch with me before your appointment starts. You must be symptom-free for 24 or more hours before you can schedule another appointment. If you cancel 3 appointments in 3 months, you will be asked to make same-day appointments only and will be charged if you cancel after the appointment is made. Please note that a credit or debit card must be on file to make and keep your appointment. If the card cannot be charged upon cancellation, you will be responsible for making the payment for the canceled appointment before any other appointments can be made. Please note if you are making any appointments for the next day and you need to cancel, you will need to call or text me within 2 hours after the appointment is made not to be charged.
Late Arrival
If you will be more than 10 minutes late, please contact me and let me know when you will arrive. I will not extend the time of your appointment if you are late; for example, if your appointment is at 11 am and you arrive at 11:05, I will not extend the appointment. I will end at the designated time frame, and you will still be responsible for the full charge of the appointment. I will call or text after 5 minutes of your appointment time to see if you will still be showing up; if I cannot get ahold of you after 15 minutes, your appointment will be canceled automatically, and you will be charged for the entire amount of the appointment. Please note that all intake forms sent to you must be filled out entirely before the appointment can start. you will be asked to fill out any paperwork that is not completed, and the appointment time will not be extended to accommodate.
Scope of practice
As a massage therapist, I run under a specific scope of practice. I do not prescribe any medications or diagnose any medical issues. I will always refer you to your doctor for prescriptions and diagnosis. My job is to relieve sore and stiff muscles. I do not make chiropractic adjustments. Sometimes, as your muscles relax, your bones in certain areas may go back into place, but I will never realign the bones on purpose; please see a chiropractor for adjustments.
Consent to treatment
You will be required to sign a consent form for the treatments before your first massage. If you are scheduling for someone else, please make sure you tell them you made an appointment. If I arrive at your residence and they do not consent to the treatment, no refund will be issued.
Medical Conditions and Pregnancy
If you have any medical conditions or are pregnant, please let me know ahead of time. If any complications occur during pregnancy and must be cleared by a doctor when resolved, it is better to be safe and ensure your body can handle massage beforehand. I will require notes of clearance from your doctor for specific medical conditions. If you want hot stones or foot scrub, add on, and have any medical condition such as high blood pressure or diabetes, a doctor's note is required. Please note that if you are having problems controlling your diabetes or blood pressure, do not come in for your massage. Please see your doctor and bring in a note stating you can resume massages.
Boundaries
I will always respect your boundaries; if anything, such as a particular area, you want me to stay away from massaging, please let me know. I also expect all clients to be respectful of me during the massage. I have a zero-tolerance policy for anything sexual during the massage. If it seems like you are sexualizing the massage, I will end the session and charge you 100% of the massage session, and you will be unable to request any new appointments. I will never uncover any area that is not being massaged and require that all coverings stay in place.
As a token of our appreciation for your support, I've launched a referral program. For every new client you refer to me who books and completes a session, you'll receive $5 off of your next session. This is redeemable until the end of the following month after. Example: if the person that you referred comes in at anytime during the month you can redeem the $5 off until the last day of the following month. There is no limit to the amount of referrals that can be redeemed. The discount is only applied towards your services and will not be credited to your bank account. It's my little way of saying thank you for spreading the word about the benefits of massage therapy. This does not include people using gift certificates bought.
I always recommend to undress to your level of comfort. If you are uncomfortable undressing at all please let me know and we can adjust the massage to fit what you are comfortable with, in this case, I will usually recommend doing reflexology instead. If you want only certain areas massaged I recommend keeping clothes on the areas that will not be touched, for example, if you only want an upper body massage I recommend keeping your pants on.
If you like a certain pressure such as firmer or lighter, please speak up and let me know. I will always ask about how the pressure feels for you, but it is up to you to let me know if it is too much or not enough, I will accommodate to the best of my abilities. It is ok for you to need different pressure in different areas, such as your back may need more or less pressure than your leg. Using more pressure than what you are able to handle can result in injury to the area communication is very important.
As with any treatment, there can be side effects, and massage is no different. Everyone reacts to massage very differently and you should be aware of some of the effects that may happen after your massage. If you are feeling dizziness afterward that is completely normal and I advise you to slowly sit up and stay seated until you feel better and can stand without falling. soreness of muscles is very normal especially if you receive a firmer pressure massage such as sports or deep tissue. With those types of massage, they break up stiff muscles and release things like lactic acid back into the body to be flushed out of your system. if you experience any soreness we can discuss how to change the massage next time also having an icepack to use is a great idea to help relieve the inflammation that can occur during the massage. Also experiencing wooziness may occur especially if you are dehydrated and not drinking enough water before and after your massage. Please note if you have any prolonged side effects for more than a day or two please consult your doctor to make sure there is nothing else going on with your body that you may not have known about beforehand.
After your massage treatment, your body and mind are in a relaxed state. To ensure you receive maximum benefits from your treatment, it is recommended that you read the following advice:
If you have any medical conditions please consult your doctor to get cleared for massage first. When you make the appointment please be advised I am not certified for certain massage modalities.
